Introduction to RMI
RMI develops
Sister Church Partnerships through the
Sister Church Program.
Sister Church Partnerships are
exciting reciprocal, cross-cultural, intimate, in-depth, ongoing,
practical and spiritual relationships between evangelical
churches located throughout Haiti, Jamaica and Guatemala and churches
all across the United States and Canada.
RMI is the lay person's mission - preparing
and enabling lay people to minister cross culturally through the
Sister Church Program....
Two churches from different cultures, joining together in a sister church
relationship for the purpose of ministering to one another and together
ministering to each other's communities.
We all know that world has become a global
village with relatively easy access to it's most remote corners. This
is one reason why lay people are desiring to be involved in hands-on foreign
mission activities.
To be effective, and to avoid common pitfalls
as one engages in cross-cultural ministry, lay people need comprehensive
training, professional guidance, constant support and a vehicle that
provides opportunity for personal involvement.
Testimonial
"Some may ask why we keep going back to
Guatemala over a period of 20 years. Our answer is found in the
friendship, fellowship and unity enjoyed among our Mayan brothers and
sisters in our sister church there. We go to express our love by
encouraging and sharing our material and spiritual blessings, but then
return greatly encouraged and motivated ourselves by these fellow believers
in our sister church. We can never give more then we receive and we
always return with abundance." Charles R Stewart, Missions Lay Leader, Trinity Evangelical Free Church,
Eustis, FL.
